Rhode Island brings in money and goods in many ways. South County is full of large plantations which produce apples and onions, among other crops. Many farmers also raise cows for milk, cheese, and other dairy products. Other livestock is bred, including sheep and a carriage horse named the Narrangasett Pacer. Our forests yeild lumber to make all kinds of boards, planks, timber, and barells. Fishermen and whalers go to the sea to catch what becomes food and fertilizers. All these things are exported to our many partners in the trading network we've created. These consumers include the Portuguese islands, Africa, South America, the West Indies, other colonies, and, of course, England. We import many African slaves to work on our plantations. Another main import is mollasses, which is mostly made into liquor. |
